Thank you for
participating in The Discord Aggregate Intersection.
Please feel free to bring promotional materials, your art for open mic,
and any questions you may have for the presenting artists.
The rough outline for the next Intersection is as follows:
7:00 Arrival, babble, discuss, question, clarify
7:30 Artist Presentation, Q&A
9:00 Open Mic
10:00 Babble, question, discuss, question, clarify,
departure.
Here are a few notes in regards to TDAI. If you have any questions,
please feel free to e-mail me at alemap@discord-aggregate.com.
--TDAI is free.
--Please feel free to bring whatever promo materials you may have for
yourself, your art, or an artist or event you would like to promote.
We will have an area set aside for promo materials, as well as specific
time to mention your events.
--For those who are allergic, there are 2 indoor/outdoor cats and a dog.
--We have coffee/tea-ish stuff as well as fizzy water, but you’re
welcome to bring whatever you’d like to nosh on/drink. Bringing some to
share is quite nice.
--If you are interested, there will be an open mic following the Artist
Presentation. Feel free to bring song, dance (hey, we'll clear out the
chairs, no problem), poetry, ideas - whatever you have that you would
like to present.
--For those who need one for the open mic, there is an upright piano,
however the tuning is not the best. There are also several other
instruments here (violin, drums, sitar, etc.) so drop us a line if you
have a particular need.
--The Intersection was started in Berkeley, California a few years ago
and has transplanted itself up here to Portland. You can expect a casual
group of people who like to talk about art and how to create it, promote
it, archive it, and basically live with being an artist. Most
Intersections last 3 or 4 hours – some have gone a bit more (an evening
with 3 sitar players comes to mind...). There’s an open mic – so you’ll
get to experience various types of art, and we hope you’ll participate
in that if/when you’re up to it.
The Discord Aggregate Intersection is an event for and about art.
Artists and those who love art are rampant in this city- we are passing
each other on the street, sitting next to each other on the train,
dining at the next table, living down the block from each other - and we
are not meeting, not making contact.
Sunday, 7:00 p.m. A place and time to intersect.
We're looking forward to it.
