The History of The Texture of the Sky

Spring 1998:

Even as the final edits for the novel "The Texture of the Sky" are still in progress, Discord Aggregate members decide to take this project into another incarnation.  The discussions of the CD begin.  It is decided that each of the three participants (A. Molotkov, S.B. Reda and Pamela Zero) would take on a complete responsibility for composing and mixing a third of the CD.

Summer 1998:

The ideas for compositions have been accumulated.  Rehearsals begin.  The composers opt not to invite additional musicians for the recording.  They plan to play with a wide variety of instruments themselves.

July - September 1998:

The recording takes place at Trakworx in San Francisco.

June 1999 - August 2000:

The three composers use a variety of innovative techniques and torture Trakworx' Justin Weis while they mix their pieces, sometimes assembling them from individually recorded notes.

September 2000:

The CD is mastered and made available as mp3.com's DAM CD, where it receives an excited response.  The work on the CD package begins.

July 2001:

With the Sky's help, "The Texture of the Sky" shipment arrives.  Yes, this is true: The Texture of The Sky is here!
